To conserve for the benefit of the public, the natural beauty and habitats of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty around Cobham and Cuxton; and to educate the public in the practice of such conservation. We are a voluntary organisation of local people in Cuxton, Halling, Cobham, Luddesdown and the surrounding areas of West Kent who undertake specific projects to conserve the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the traditional English countryside, right on your doorstep We tackle problems that affect the local countryside and promote its proper use to enable your family to enjoy its natural beauty and habitats. We are still concentrating on the area in Cobham Woods, known locally as The Leisure Plots. Thanks to the generosity of the late William Henry Hamilton, Jnr, who left us six plots in his will, we started with a secure base to start our conservation work in the area. With the assistance of the Rail Link Countryside Initiative and the Kent Downs AONB Sustainable Development Fund we have now purchased a further three plots and completion is imminent on two more. We are now starting on the next round of funding applications in respect of twenty further plots.
