European Community initiative supporting rural development projects in the most rural part of the county, from the North Kent Marshes to Romney Marsh. Mid Kent Leader+ is a £4.3m European Community funded initiative for assisting rural communities improving their quality of life and economic prosperity. The Programme was started in 2002 and had committed all the funding by 2006 though many projects are continuing their work into 2008, when the new Leader Programme will begin.
